User feedback on domestic abuse statistics
Overview
To ensure our statistics on domestic abuse continue to provide the most accurate information and meet the needs of users, we added new survey questions to the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) in April 2025.
The new questions enable us to produce domestic abuse measures (abuse scales) that account for both abusive behaviours experienced and the impacts of those behaviours.
Alongside our Redevelopment of domestic abuse statistics: Research update November 2025 we published estimates showing domestic abuse scales.
As part of our ongoing development of the abuse scales, we want to hear your thoughts and feedback. This survey asks for your views on the method, the estimates and the outputs. We welcome responses from anyone with an interest in this topic. Your feedback will help us to ensure that the statistics and outputs that we produce best meet the needs of users.”
