Homelessness Indicators Consultation

Closed 10 Jul 2019

Opened 29 May 2019

Overview

ONS are working in partnership with the Centre for Homelessness Impact (CHI) to create an indicator framework to measure homelessness across the UK. CHI are a What Works Centre. They drive evidence-led change that achieves better outcomes for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

The indicator framework will be based on CHI’s SHARE framework. SHARE identifies 5 focus areas that offer the best chance of driving significant change in ending homelessness.

Why We Are Consulting

We want to hear your views on whether we’re measuring the right areas relating to homelessness. We’re keen to use the full range of data available, whilst ensuring data are fit for purpose. We want to be confident that our approach to data development and prioritisation is the right one. We also want to make information on homelessness indicators accessible. We’re interested in your thoughts on a data reporting platform that suits your needs.

Your feedback will help shape our approach to monitoring and reporting progress against the SHARE framework. We will publish a response within 12 weeks of the consultation end date.

What Happens Next

This consultation formed part of an ongoing dialogue we would like to have with you. Alongside the consultation, we hope to run a series of workshops with interested stakeholders. If you or your organisation would like to be involved, please email us at hello@homelessnessimpact.

We will use the results of the consultation to help shape our approach to monitoring and reporting progress against the SHARE framework. We will publish a response within 12 weeks of the consultation end date.
